Collection fund
Throughout the existence of Slovácké Museum (since 1914) the ethnography department has been the key department of this institution and its shape and the number of its collections have been influenced by many amateur and professional workers. Until now they have collected 35,000 objects in a wide neighbourhood of Uherské Hradiště and in Moravia-Slovakia borderland. They are deposited in modern depositories in the main building of Slovácké Museum in Smetanovy sady, in the new object of the former barracks in Štefánikova Street in Uh. Hradiště and in the objects of Folk Architecture Studio in Topolná.
Museum collections have either been purchased, obtained as donations, transferred from other institutions, or obtained from legacy. The fund is handled professionally, tended, adjusted, invented and registered and divided into sections the basic being agriculture, professions, housing, clothing, customs and folk art.
