Ancient / Elderly arts
The collection fund of Slovácké Museum comprises over seven thousand objects, the oldest coming from the 17th and 18th centuries and some of them being part of the valuables of the town of Uherské Hradiště. A quite remarkable and valuable volume consists of dozens of graphics that come from various places in Europe.

Ethnography in arts
The most extensive collection comprises works mapping the development of ethnography-oriented graphic arts of south-eastern Moravia since the end of the 19th century (particularly that of the Uherské Hradiště region).

The 2nd half of the 20th century – present times
Another collection covers graphic arts in the area of south-east Moravia after World War II, works by artists studying at the Zlín School of Arts and at Uherské Hradiště Secondary School of Applied Art and by those who worked in the region or left indelible traces there.

Medal collection – symposium
A special place in the collection fund is given to a collection of medals, plaques and small sculptures, made during individual years of the international sculpture symposium in Uherské Hradiště. It includes over 80 works of art by 40 artists.

Symposia on cast medals, plaques and small sculptures have taken place in Uherské Hradiště´s Secondary School of Applied Art every other year since 1988. The organizers share the same idea and have the same goal: to support and develop medal design and deepen the existing contacts of our medal design with the world. They only last one month. Within this relatively short period of time, designers have a chance to get acquainted with, extend and exchange their skills in casting in bronze by means of a „lost-wax“ technique and test their knowledge in practice. Each participant is expected to donate a sculpture or two to the symposium´s collection. Over the past ten years has originated (and hopefully will expand) an interesting collection of miscellaneous forms and motifs that gives our medal designers and small sculpture makers an opportunity to compare their works with foreign participants. The collection is becoming a kind of „archaeology of present times“, in which the indisputable artistic quality combines with the historical and documentary quality.
