Folk Clothing
In the section „Folk Costumes In Retrospection“ you can see the most typical twenty eight costumes of Slovácko identified by Josef Klvaňa in 1923. The selection of costumes, ceremonial accessories, laces and embroideries is a illustration of type diversification – from opulent ceremonial and festive costumes to semi-festive, work, summer and winter costumes and clothes of the elderly and the unmarried. Until recently, the costume was a sign of social status, expressing both rank and age of man and due to the characteristic features you can tell which region or even village the costume comes from. The selection of costumes shows differences between sub-regions of Horňácko, Dolňácko, Moravské Kopanice, Podluží, Luhačovské Zálesí and Hanácko-Slovácké pomezi (borderland).
