Rural House Nr. 90

House Nr. 90 is a rural house with a two-storeyed larder. The farm part ends with a retirement dwelling and a smithy. The first owner of the house, traced back in history to the year 1671, was a quarter-farmer Václav Vacula, the last being Josef Kozlík who moved out to ex-Sudeten borderland in 1945 leaving his grandson Karel Křižka as an heir to the property. The house is typically L-shaped with the smithy at the very end of the agricultural part. Karel Navrátil worked as a blacksmith in the house till the end of 1930s. Most people in Topolná would make their orders for necessary smith tools with him. A renowned and skillful master blacksmith, he manufactured most difficult smith products – iron parts for carts, ploughs and ploughshare. Never did he manufacture horse shoes or hoof horses. The original smithy was made accessible for public in 1998. The grounds of the house were extended by a replica of a barn in 1996 and a stone-rimmed well in 1998. Besides the above mentioned smithy, the interior of the object is not commonly accessible to visitors. The yard, however, is frequently used for folklore performances and musical events.
